Women who inspire me

Quotes from women who have contributed to the early childood sector

No government can love a child, and no policy can substitute for a family's care. But at the same time, government can either support or undermine families as they cope with moral, social and economic stresses of caring for children.
~Hillary Rodham Clinton

  2. I love the comment by Hilary Clinton! What a powerful message to our government with regards to children and families!

I also love the quote by Maria Montessori about never helping a child with a task they feel they can be successful with! That is so true with my own children. I find when they are in that 2 year old stage when they want to do everything themselves, that if I offer to do something for them that they can do on their own, they get mad!! :) I also find that when I offer to help with something I know they can do, they'll let me do it over and over again and forget that they can do it on their own! Then it's like we have to teach it over again!!

    Nice post!!

  3. I enjoyed that quotes from Maria Montessori. I admire her work and after spending time in a montessori classroom I have trying to bring more and more of it into my own. I especially liked that quote about when to help a child. We need to know when to take a step back and let children succeed on their own and when they need a little guidance.
